I transferred a domain name to nativespace, but my site is not appearing!

Note that when we transfer a domain name, we do not modify the nameserver information. You must modify this yourself via your client area (https://www.nativespace.com/clients) to ensure your domain name points to your site at nativespace. https://www.nativespace.com/mynative/knowledgebase/24/How-can-I-change-the-nameservers-for-my-Domain-Name.html

Regarding timescales for transfer - we at nativespace rely on your previous registrar to release the domain in good time, however transfers can take up to 7 days.

Some registrars are very fast at honouring release requests, and the domain can often be transferred within a matter of hours. Others take the full 7 days. It is always worth contacting your current registrar for a status update after 2-3 days.

One way to get around the delays, and have your nativespace site active much more quickly, is to set the nameservers for your domain to point to nativespace <strong>before</strong> the transfer takes place (i.e. before OR immediately after ordering). You can normally set nameserver information in the control panel provided by your current registrar. This way, the site is pointing before the transfer completes, and you are not held back by waiting for the transfer to complete.

An important note:

With all .uk domains (e.g. .co.uk and .org.uk) you must ensure the TAG or IPSTAG is set to NATIVESPACE. If you neglect to do this, the transfer will fail, and the process has to be restarted.

With all .com, .net and .org domains, you will require what is called the EPP key. This is a short code that will be provided to you by your current registrar. You will need to enter this code during the order process at nativespace to order a transfer for any of these types of TLD.

With all other domains, ensure the admin contact for the domain can respond to authorisation Emails, or again the transfer will fail and will have to be restarted. You can check the contacts for your domain at

http://www.dnsstuff.com/tools/whois.ch?ip=domain.com

(replace domain.com with your domain name).

The admin contact must verify the transfer is to go ahead via Email. This Email will arrive within a few days of ordering your domain transfer.
